Kia prosper in 2011!

Kia Motors have enjoyed significant success in 2011; over the past 12 months the South Korean vehicle manufacturer saw a ten percent boost over 2010’s statistics by producing 252,000 cars at their Zilina plant.
The factory, based in Slovakia was able to create 359,000 petrol and diesel engines in 2011 which is a 12% rise on previously recorded figures. Eek-Hee Lee, the president and chief executive of Kia Motors Slovakia, pointed out that the statistics represent a "very positive" year for Kia in Europe.
2012 is set to be an exciting year for the manufacturer with preparations already in place for the volume production of the all-new Kia Cee’d.
Kia’s success comes as the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reveal that UK manufacturing rose by 5.8% in 2011, these new figures show a revival in Britain’s car industry since the recession. According to the SMMT, Nissan was a key contender in driving UK sales during 2011; production in Nissan’s Sunderland factory, increased by 13.5%, the largest volume in the UK, with 480,485 units of the Qashqai, Juke and Note being produced.
