Applications sought for safety scholarship scheme

Date Listed: 02/12/2009

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) are seeking applications for the second round of a £500,000 scholarship scheme.

Funding is provided by the scholarship for safety-related research that will produce defined, practical and influential outcomes to help prevent accidents.

Grants of up to £20,000 per project are available each year and the closing date for the 2010 round is April 2nd 2010.

Road safety, particularly improving the standards of driving behaviour, is one of the categories for which applications are invited.

Tom Mullarkey, RoSPA chief executive, said that it was privileged to run a scholarship scheme which would help reduce the amount of lives lost and injuries sustained.
