ATA now valid for three years

Date Listed: 02/03/2012

The national voluntary scheme, Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) will be valid for three years from April, the IMI have confirmed. Previously the accreditation was valid for five years; the organisation has credited the change to the rapidly changing technology within the motor industry as being the reason behind the change.

Assessments completed before March 31st will not be affected by the change, all assessments completed after April 1st will have the new three year expiry limit.

The ATA represents those in the motor industry who are committed to an ethical code of conduct; launched in 2005 the scheme has been a complete success with over 19,000 technicians now ATA members.
